Macross Flashback 2012

Macross Flashback 2012 is a short OVA produced to commemorate the movie Macross DYRL (which takes place partly in the year 2012). Flashback 2012 takes the form of music videos of Minmei's songs from DYRL shot with various footage from DYRL, the Macross TV show and still images of other Macross related artwork. Interspliced with the videos is about 5 minutes of new footage that picks up on the concert scene that plays during DYRL's end credits and features slightly older versions of Hikaru, Misa and Minmei. There is no dialogue to go with this new footage but you can still understand some of what these characters are doing in events that take place after DYRL. I have never seen any of Macross 7, but I believe Flashback 2012 may serve to bridge the gap between DYRL and Macross 7.
